Alan Snowman is a character in the Robbie the Reindeer films. He along with Des Yeti are seen commentating on The Reindeer Games.

He is voiced by Alistair McGowen in the British version and Dick Dierdorf in the American redub.

Hooves of FireEdit

Alan along with Des sitting on a mountain facing the venue of The Reindeer Games and commentates on it, but when he sees Robbie, he is about to tell Des the name of Robbie's dad but is gagged by Blitzen (who hates hearing the name).

The two later commentate on the most important event The Steeplechase. After Robbie beats all the records in every event, Alan tells Des that he was said Robbie was brilliant but Des says that Alan didn't say it and starts up a heater causing Alan to melt and make him admit he was lying.

Legend of the Lost TribeEdit

Three years later, Alan along with Des go to a new attraction called Blitzen's Reindeer World were they go into a cart but it won't move. Just then Blitzen (who was trying to escape Robbie) arrives where Des asks him if he could help them. But instead, Blitzen throws them off the cart and sets it to flight mode and flies off.

He along with Des and the others see Robbie and Donner kiss after they return from defeating Blitzen.

Alan and Des are last seen attending Prancer and The Vikings' disco in Reindeer World.



  • He is based on former footballer Alan Hensen.
  • According to storyboards, Alan was meant to have a more human appearance.
